Project Abstract: As one of Chicago's preeminent developers of high-end residential properties, JDL Development's luxurious high-rises and gated communities demand a refined aesthetic. When they described their plans for a new conversion in Chicago's historic South Loop neighborhood of Printers Row, we knew the radical departure in look and audience would be a great challenge and a perfect opportunity for Firebelly. Set amidst Chicago's legendary print houses of the 1900s and the modern culture of a vibrant 21st century downtown, JDL's largest residential development, Printers Square, gave us an opportunity as designers to celebrate Chicago's rich printing history and educate potential buyers.
